Jennifer Aniston is one of Hollywood’s most loved stars, but fans may have noticed she has never walked the Met Gala red carpet. Now, she has finally shared the reason. And, it is actually very relatable.
In her recent interview with ‘Glamour’ magazine for their September issue, the ‘Morning Show’ actress admitted that the event feels like too much pressure for her. She said that while she has been invited, she prefers to skip it.

Aniston explained that preparing for such a high-fashion night overwhelms her. “It’s the getting ready, the dress, the whole thing,” she said. “I’m more of a jeans, flip-flops, and tank top kind of girl.”
The ‘Friends’ star added that while she does enjoy dressing up on occasion, the process of preparing for the Met Gala feels like a “mental game.” From makeup and hair to the fancy gowns, she said it all sounds exhausting.
Unlike the Golden Globes or the Emmy Awards, which Jennifer Aniston often attends, the Met Gala seems like a different kind of challenge. Aniston admitted that just the thought of it makes her nervous, even though she knows the event is about celebrating fashion and enjoying the night with peers.
Part of her hesitation also comes from her past experiences with the media. She revealed that public speaking or simply being in front of too many cameras can still make her anxious. Over the years, she has felt cautious about how her words might be twisted or taken out of context.
“I sometimes feel like I’m monitoring myself, almost like a hall monitor,” she explained. “In the past, journalism could be tough. They just wanted to find something to run forever.”
Despite that, Aniston has reached a point in her life where she doesn’t let those things bother her as much anymore. “At the end of the day, none of it really matters,” she said.
